Just because we can’t see our butt, doesn’t mean that we should forget to train it… let’s be dedicated to the rear view, we should never neglect what could be our best asset.

Where Are They… What Are They? Got Variety??

There are three muscles that make up the buttocks, the gluteus maximus, the gluteus medius and the gluteus minimus, both the gluteus medius and the gluteus minimus lie under the gluteus maximus.

The gluteus maximus function is to extend the hip, it plays a part in the rotation of the hip and brings the leg back in towards the body’s midline.

The gluteus medius and the gluteus minimus functions are to abduct the leg away from the centerline of the body; they also play a significant role in the stabilization of the pelvis.

One of the best ways to obtain well-balanced growth is to incorporate squats, lunges, dead lifts and step ups in your glute workout. It’s always a smart idea to have variety in your workout routine, after all variety is the spice of life.
