Healthy cooking is the basis of a great weight loss program once you have this aspect covered you will have amazing success with your weight loss goals.

Lack Of Exercise + Poor Diet = Obesity

We have come to the realization that obesity is one of the leading causes of health problems in the world. If we turn to a lifestyle of health and fitness, we can actually nip this problem in the bud and actually cure obesity.

One way to go about doing this is to include in your day to day activities… healthy cooking. With the three point action plan of diet, exercise and discipline… we will cure obesity and at the same time, we will become happier and healthier.

A Fact Restaurants Don’t Want You To Know About

On an average, restaurants will pack a walloping 1,000 to 2,000 calories and 50 to 100 grams of fat into just one meal. A recommended daily intake of calories one should eat is right around 2,000.

Now we can see why we should try to eat at home more often, not only will it save your diet and help you live a healthy lifestyle but it will also save on your wallet. Just remember… you have the power and you choose if you want to eat healthy food at home or go eat at a fattening, high priced restaurant.

Slice And Dice… Flavor And Savor

You don’t have to be a wiz kid, magician or a gourmet chef to prepare a healthy, flavorful and delicious meal. The only thing needed for healthy cooking is…

  • Spices
  • Herbs
  • Some easy tips and techniques

By using these techniques, you not only will cut fat out of your diet but you will also cut calories and then my friend… you will be well on your way towards your weight loss goals.

Spices, Herbs, Tips And Techniques Made Easy

Some of my favorite spices and herbs to use are: Black pepper, citrus, garlic, onions, peppers, rosemary, cilantro, paprika, tarragon and basil.

Some helpful tips would be to choose leaner cuts of meat this way you will eat less saturated fat.

Top five techniques to use…

  1. Grilling is thrilling: For added flavor without the added fat, grill or broil your meat, poultry and fish. The best part about this is that the extra fat will drip away from the meat while it is cooking.
  2. Sautéing is sweet: When using this technique, be sure you use water or low sodium broth instead of butter or oil.
  3. Ready for roasting: Why not roast your vegetables, chicken, fish and meat remember to place some sort of rack inside your roasting pan to let the fat drip away while cooking.
  4. Browning and braising: Brown your food on your stovetop before you slow cook it using water or broth. This is a good way to tenderize the meat.
  5. Steaming is dreamy: This method involves a stovetop, some water and a steamer basket. You can also steam fish in your oven, put your fish on some foil, add some chopped vegetables, herbs and spices, finish off by sealing the foil. The vegetables provide the moisture and the fish provides the steam… what a combo… tastes great!!
