Supplementation… A Necessity In Today’s Fast Pace

Supplementation has become necessary today because of the fast paced speedy world that we live in. Generally supplements include amino acids, essential fatty acids, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

Words Demystified

Ok, so you are new to this exciting adventure and you don’t know a lot about nutrition. I have included some words with definitions to make this process a little easier on you.

  •  Amino acids: Organic compounds that combine to form proteins. Amino acids and proteins are the building blocks of life.
  • Essential fatty acids (EFAs): These are the good fats that are essential to the human body we need them to help our bodies function. They provide immune support, brain function, help to reduce inflammation throughout the body and helps with fat burning.
  • Fiber: A dietary material containing substances such as cellulose, lignin and pectin. It is best known for helping food to move efficiently through your body. It can help with heart disease, diabetes, digestive problems and helps guard against weight gain.
  • Vitamins and minerals: Vitamins are organic substances (made by plants or animals) minerals are inorganic elements (come from the earth). They are nutrients that your body needs in order to grow and develop normally and are required for proper metabolism.

As an added feature, I will also give you some information on different weight loss supplements and workout supplements that might be of some benefit to you.

Liquid Form Is Better For Absorption

If you can find your supplements in liquid form rather than another form, they tend to absorb better thereby providing for the greatest absorption in your cells. This would include anything in a gel cap with liquid in it. Try to look for products that give you all the necessary vitamins and minerals as well as 5,000 units of anti-oxidants to fight against aging and cancer.

Protein Powder… A Sure Shot Recovery From Intense Workouts

Some athletes use protein powder as supplementation to recover from intense workouts or just to boost their protein intake so they can help with the building of muscle mass. Protein comes in two forms, a powder or a liquid. The liquid is handy because you can toss one in your gym bag for a tasty fast treat right after your intense workout. Protein powder can also be used as a weight loss shake

Physical Perfection… Obtained With A Two Part Approach

If you want to speed up your recovery from exercising, we can attack that through correct diet and supplementation. The two part approach of physical perfection would be through exercising and then through proper nutrition.

  • Carbohydrates and protein are ideal about an hour before your workout. A protein shake with some fruit in it would accomplish this. Once your workout is over, take some more protein, by doing this it will help you begin the repairing process for your muscles. Remember that liquid protein that you tossed in your gym bag earlier… why not give that a go for after your workout?
  • Be sure to consume quality nutrition throughout the day. That would include fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, natural fats and about 0.8 grams of protein for every pound you weigh. Try to eat small meals every three hours to help your body recover for your next workout.

One last thing to remember is if you have a consistent workout program coupled with the right supplementation program, the correct mix of nutrients, you are on the sure shot pathway to success. You ROCK!!
